RESET: For Prepared Nintendo Entertainment System 2009
The first of the RESET series of interactive “glitch environment” installations produced for Bent Festival at The Tank NYC in 2009. This iteration utilized the data collage effect with one of my prepared NES’ which was installed in the ceiling of the Tank’s basement hallway. A single laser pointer was hacked to accept power from a wall adapter and mounted at the far end of the hallway. The laser light was then reflected down the hallway via a series of broken mirror fragments. As people entered the hallway, their movement blocked the laser light which was focused on a photocell resistor, thereby triggering generative audio/visual sequences.
